2022-2023 District Governor's Message

Dear Fellow Y’s Men, Y’s Ladies, Y’s Youth, honorable guests, and friends,

Served as Deputy District Governor and District Honorary Secretary for the past few years. I am honored and excited to be elected as District Governor of the Hong Kong District. Especially during the Centennial Y’s Men’s Year.

My special thanks go to IPRD Joan Wong, RDE Deepak Bhandari, the District officers, and the consultants for leading our District to a fulfilling year. This year I am proud to have two DDGs, Selina Chan and Harrison Cheng, and a strong team of district officers who will help me strengthen the district’s ties with our Y’s Men’s clubs and our fellow Y’s Men and Y’s Ladies as always.

Looking back, my first task in the district was for the membership extension; I did bear in mind the guidance of PRD Alexander Chan. Last March, I was fortunate enough to be the Chartered President of the New Territories East Club with 25 members from diversified backgrounds but with the same values and vision!
This Year, RDE Deepak Bhandari has also added two more clubs. The number of clubs in Hong Kong has increased to 17, and the number of members in the Hong Kong District has increased by more than 20%; riding on the momentum, we will do better.

As we are launching a variety of celebrations and events for our 100th anniversary, this is also a great time to spread the word to the society and to achieve our goals:
Expanding membership in the clubs;
Strengthening Y’s Men on an international and local level;
Partner with the YMCA to provide the relevant services to the community.

“We are the Legends” conveys the determination to create greater glories.
My team and I look forward to working with you all for an exciting and fruitful Y’s Men’s Year!

Yours Y’sly,

Pinky Seung
