2021-2022 District Governor's Message

My Fellow Y’s Men, Y’s Ladies & Y’s Youth,

Namaskar and warm Greetings!

I want to begin by saying it is my honour and great pleasure to have opportunity to serve as District Governor of Hong Kong District for 2021/2022. I am proud to have so with such a dedicated executive team with a deep commitment to this District. I would like to congratulate and thanks to DDGs Kenny Choi and Selina Chan, all District Council Members and Club Presidents.

I am confident you will have a busy and rewarding year. At every stage in our lives, Y’s Men International has something for each of us. From the moment we became Y’s Men, the responsibility of community service, international Support, partnership with YMCA, Y’s Mentees & Y’s Youth, Cultural Exchange, Extension, International Brother Clubs was open to us —and it became our obligation to choose how best to serve.

This year, we seized new opportunities to reimagine what Hong Kong District could be. For years, we had discussed ways to make District flexible and adaptable, and we had tried a few experiments. This year, we all experimented — and succeeded! Online meetings are a regular fixture now as Clubs/District invites guests from across the globe.

I am very proud of the work Y’s Men International is doing to fight COVID-19 by supporting needy people around the world through the different Clubs of our District as well. I would like to assure you all that Hong Kong District will continue the support to fight against COVID-19 and response to “YMI Heal the World”.

Y’s Men International is entering into 100th Anniversary and has been launching various celebration and activities; I hope we together will help to Hong Kong District to achieve our goals of new clubs including y’s youth club extension and development, Integration community service and cultural exchange, leadership training, Promotion of International programs and legacy fund and best uses of Technology. Let’s meet Challenge 22 together!

With warmest regards,

Deepak Bhandari, Ph.D. Scholar
